4 Stars The Fact Resistance Diet
The Fat Resistance Diet is a must read if you are serious about your health. In many ways it is not all that revolutionary in the sense of its recommendations - eat more greens and vegatables, less red meat, etc. - but it gives rationales and more importantly recipes and meal plans for some delicious meals. My wife and I have been on it for about three months and both of us have lost weight, sleep better and are never hungry. (In fact we seldom eat the portions the recipes indicate.) Be prepared to spend a bit more time cooking - prepared foods are forbidden. Otherwise - we love it!

After a lifetime of diets,my search stops here.Well done book which really allows you to change your lifestyle and realize that what you do eat is more important than what you do not eat.This did not start as a weightloss plan,maybe that’s why it’s so good. I strongly recommend this book.

At the request of my Dr. I ordered this book. Due to joint replacements and overall health problems I have gradually gained weight. He felt this book would help because the diet addresses the issue of Leptin (a hormone in the brain that helps your body process fat) not functioning in the way it should. Inflammation in the body influences how the Leptin processes fat and if you have a lot of inflammation chances are your Leptin is not functioning like it should be.
I started the diet and 10 days later I had lost 8 lbs. The swelling in my feet and legs was down considerably. I saw my Dr. for a check-up yesterday and he was thrilled with my progress and so am I. I always thought I ate healthy, but I found out I don’t. Now I am learning to with the help of The Fat Resistance Diet.
My husband is following the diet with me and has lost more weight then I have, but he is more active, also.
The meals are good and pretty easy to fix once you get used to chopping up lots of vegetables. The meats are mainly fish and chicken with beef allowed once a week. You eat 8-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. It is a different way of eating and I think a person just has to get their mind wrapped around the fact that they need to eat better or be ill.
The book included daily meal plans and all the recipes. It even has a grocery shopping list.
The Fat Resistance Diet has helped me so much in a short time and I am excited to see how I feel in a month or two.
2 Stars Some valuable information.
This book, The Fat Resistance Diet by Leo Galland, provides a lot of information on the problem of inflammation in the human body and why it occurs. It relates to the hormone leptin (dicovered in 1996), but do not buy this book if you want accurate info on getting your leptin back in balance. Buy The Leptin Diet by Byron Richards, instead (check out my review of his book for more info).
Galland’s book encourages snacking, but snacking is one of the major reasons leptin gets out of balance. This book has excellent information about eating healthfully and naturally, so it is valuable for that topic, as well as his research on inflammation, but recommending snacking is contradictory to leptin balance.
This book has an endorsement by Dr. Mehmet Oz, Oprah’s doctor. It just goes to show you that even the doctors on the cutting edge of medicine don’t know much about nutrition and fail to realize that people need to stop eating 6 meals a day. Human digestion is designed to accept 3 meals a day, 5-6 hours apart, which is fact based on the basic science of biology, metabolism and digestion. This is a major problem since, as a country, we are told that we need to eat frequently, which is a myth. If you read Byron Richards’ book, you’ll understand why. Richards is a clinical nutritionist, which may be the reason his book contains the accurate nutritional information we need.
